Systems Engineer

 

Job Title: Systems Engineer

Start Date: To be Determined.

Location:  Milwaukie, OR

Pay Rate: Based on Experience.

 

Position Overview:

This position has the primary responsibility for integrating and delivering a wide range of complex technology solutions to the end-user and is a key contributor to the Nordisk Systems, Inc. team, which is responsible for designing complex server, storage, software, and service solutions as a technical representative of Nordisk Systems, Inc.

 

Position Requirements:

  • Knowledge of IBM Products and Services.
  • This is a customer facing position , applicant must possess positive customer relation skills
  • Strong technology and communication skills with an open mind that is willing to learn new technologies and products.
  • Comfortable working as a team with the technical, sales and marketing departments for customer and company IT projects.
  • Valid driver's license with an automobile that is insured to state regulations and is in good running order. 

 

Required Education and Experience:

  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field; equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years’ hands-on experience working in the Information Technology field.

 

Preferred Technology Skills and Experience:

  • Strong experience working with SAN/NAS/iSCSI storage solutions.
  • Proficient with server configurations and troubleshooting and blade technology.
  • Highly functional with VMware.
  • Experience with Windows Environments:  Active Directory, SQL, Exchange and HyperV.
  • Knowledge of ZFS, OpenSolaris and Linux is encouraged.
  • Basic networking experience preferred.

 

Certifications in any of the following are a plus:

  • IBM POWER Systems: POWER 7, system p, system i
  • IBM Storage Systems: TS, DS, Storwize
  • IBM Software:  TSM, AIX, HA/HACMP
  • VMware VCP 5.0 +
  • Cisco CCNA (CCNE preferred)

Physical Requirements:

  • Sitting for long periods of time.
  • Use of computer keyboard and mouse frequently.

The primary responsibilities of this position surround the sale of Nordisk Systems offered solutions to meet or exceed gross profit quotas.
